Good Books is a family-owned, independent bookstore located in New York’s Hudson Valley. We are a decidedly “community-centered” bookstore.
Our hope is that Good Books is a place to meet people, share thoughts, and discover new ideas.

Beacon Prison BOOKS Project
We are proud to partner with Beacon Prison Books Project, an organization that provides free books to incarcerated persons, by request.
When you stop in the store, you will find a section dedicated to the Books Project. Buy a requested book, write a postcard to the recipient, and we work with the Project to deliver the book.
Good Books donates the profits from purchased books to the Beacon Prison Books Project.
Since February 2020, the Project has sent over 7,000 books to incarcerated folks in the Hudson Valley and throughout New York State.
